– Special Vintage Info: This wine is the result of a pioneering 3-year MicroTerroir project to identify and master the potential of superior micro-plots. Sponsored by the Chile Government, this is the 2nd only such project in the World, and in which Casa Silva was the exclusive winery. Made from plots often as small as one barrel, the family hope this will be seen as Chile’s ultimate expression of Carmenere, from its Los Lingues Estate.
Vinification / Winemaking:
– How grapes were handled: 100% hand picked in small trays
– Fermentation / Yeast Type / Vessel: Grapes cooled down below 5ºC upon arrival at the winery. Hand sorting of grapes both before and after destemming. Pre-fermentative maceration for 10 days at 6ºC. Alcoholic fermentation in 500 -1000 litres rotating barrels for 16 days at 26ºC – 30°C. Post ferment maceration for 15 days. Run off and malolactic fermentation in 500 litre French oak barrels.

Tasting Notes:
Intense ruby red with violet hues. On the nose, delicate aromas of red and black fruits with hints of coffee. On the palate, harmonious, with very good structure, soft tannins and notes of ripe red fruits, spices and a soft touch of black pepper. Long, lingering finish.
